What Fairview and Lake Lure do to a window

Fairview sits in the Cane Creek valley southeast of Asheville, below the Blue Ridge Parkway, and most of the homes are either on farm land along Cane Creek Road and Old Fort Road or up on the slopes in communities like Southcliff and along Garren Creek. The valley holds fog on cool mornings, and the hayfields and pastures put a fine dust in the air on dry days that the mist pulls down onto the glass. The slopes are oak and poplar, and the April pollen is as heavy here as anywhere in the county. Many of the larger lots run on well water, and the sprinkler spots on the lower panes are a common first complaint when we take on a new home.

Over Hickory Nut Gap and down Highway 74A through Gerton and Chimney Rock, the conditions change. Lake Lure sits in a gorge with Rumbling Bald Mountain on one side and the Chimney Rock cliffs on the other, and the lake homes along Buffalo Creek Road, Boys Camp Road and Bills Creek get mist off the water on still mornings and spray from the boat traffic on summer weekends. The gorge funnels wind, which brings the leaf drop from the whole mountainside down on the lakefront in October. Homes at Rumbling Bald sit under hemlocks and pines, and the needle drop and pine pollen land on roofs, gutters and glass twice a year.

A quarterly plan suits most Fairview homes, with the inside glass done once a year and an extra visit after the April pollen for homes under heavy tree cover. Lakefront homes on Lake Lure usually go to every two months from May through October, when the boat traffic and the leaf drop are heaviest. Many Lake Lure homes are second homes or rentals, so we work from a lockbox or with your property manager as the contact. We know the gate at Southcliff and the roads around Rumbling Bald, work each stretch of shoreline in one pass, and send a text the morning of each visit.

Fairview and Lake Lure window cleaning questions

How much does window cleaning cost in Fairview and Lake Lure?

First-clean pricing varies by home size and service package. A first cleaning, inside and out, is $259 for a home up to 2,000 square feet, $329 for 2,000 to 3,500 square feet, and $429 for larger homes on our Silver package. After that, a quarterly maintenance plan runs $60, $77, or $100 a month for those same home sizes. Lakefront and estate homes get a custom quote.

How often should windows be cleaned in Fairview and Lake Lure?

Quarterly keeps the pollen, fog film and well-water spots under control for most Fairview homes. Lakefront homes on Lake Lure pick up mist and boat spray through the summer and do better every two months from May through October. Most people have the inside glass done once a year.

Do you take care of lake houses and rentals on Lake Lure?

Yes. A good share of our Lake Lure plans are on second homes and rental houses around Rumbling Bald, Bills Creek and the shoreline roads. We can work from a lockbox code or with your property manager as the contact for access, we work around the rental calendar, and we text when we arrive and when we finish.

Can you clean the lakeside glass on a Lake Lure home?

Yes. Most lake houses have a two or three story wall of glass facing the water, often over a steep bank or a dock. We clean it with water-fed poles from the ground or the dock and ladders only where the footing is safe. Let us know the number of stories and whether the house sits on a slope on the quote form.
